Pete’s Story

“I’ve had a number of trainers over the years and had some good results - however Toby is by far the best.

I came to Toby because I wanted to restructure the way I train but also my mindset. I have always pushed myself a bit too hard and have enjoyed the results but not the process. 

Since working with Toby, I have regained a 6 pack which I’m delighted with but even more importantly I enjoyed the process and honestly genuinely didn’t feel like I was on a punishing regime. I was always taught that to lose body fat you have to restrict yourself.

This programme is different. Time-restricted eating hugely helped and my sleep has never been better.

These were Pete's words to me when we finished coaching last year.

Pete has had quite a few other coaches in the past.

However, they all took Pete down a similar path to try achieve his fat loss goal.

They took him down the typical path of extremely low calories to achieve fat loss goal.

One of Pete's old coaches stuck him on:

👉🏻 1200 calories a day

👉🏻 10,000 steps a day

👉🏻 5 x resistance workouts a week

... 😳

Did he experience changes to his body?

Of course.

Majority of people on a 1200 calorie diet and training 5 times a week would lose a lot of weight (fat & muscle!)

Now, the big question I asked Pete was:

"Did you enjoy the process?"

Of course he didn't!

😫 He didn’t enjoy feeling constantly hungry

😫 He didn’t enjoy being irritable

😫 He didn’t enjoy having no energy and no libido

So, when Pete came to me for coaching, we took a different approach.

Pete's main goal was to regain a 6-pack.

I actually wanted to IMPROVE Pete’s overall quality of life by getting him back his 6-pack but not to the detriment to his wellbeing.

In Pete’s case this was achieved by:

👉🏻 Improving his sleep

👉🏻 Eating sufficient calories (we never went lower than 1900)

👉🏻 Eating his calories within a 12-hour window

👉🏻 Improving his relationship with food

The results?

Pete has got his beloved 6-pack back and the words he said to me when we finished coaching:
