Hear What Alex Had To Say About His Experience With TLifestyle
Alex was training hard and he saw some decent results to start with.
However, he came to me because he wanted to take his results to the next level.
He felt like he deserved more progression with all the effort he was putting in to his training.
Training alone can only get you so far. At some point you will plateu and that is when you need to look at other areas of your life that can take your results to the next level.
Alex wanted to put on size and muscle.
Alex had trouble putting on weight and size after his initial spike in results at the start.
Alex was undereating, and actually most importantly he was overactive and overtraining.
He was weight training 3-4 times a week, running twice a week, had an hour cycling journey to the gym AND he was going for some long walks each day.
For fat loss, this is great.
However for muscle building, this is an issue!
Alex was struggling to put weight on and build muscle because he was in a calorie deficit from all this activity.
He was burning more calories than he was consuming.
For serious muscle growth you need to be in a calorie surplus, where you’re consuming more calories than you are burning.
So, me and Alex talked about how he could tweak his routine so that he wasn’t so active throughout the week.
He reduced to just one run a week. He got the train to the gym a couple times a week instead of cycling every time and he also did some big walks only on the days he wasn’t weight training.
He found a GREAT balance between more recovery time and still being active to help maintain his mental health throughout lockdown.
We also bumped his calories up a little to help push him further into a calorie surplus.
Alex worked with me for 5 months and he has put on 1kg of weight every month.
He has filled out incredibly well and he is over the moon with his results! He can now properly fill out his t-shirts which can given him such confidence.
